We currently offer Mixed Level classes for three times a week at a studio in downtown Honolulu.

Dance Artistry 16 Merchant Street (next to Murphy's Bar & Grill on the corner of Nu'uanu Ave & Merchant St.), Honolulu, HI 96813 Directions: From Nimitz, turn onto Smith Street. Turn Right on Marin Lane, pass Nu'uanu Ave. Dance Artistry will be on the left. Parking: There are plenty of street parking available after 7:00pm except for the first Friday of the month. If you prefer parking in the lot, then please read below: Parking Available at Marin Tower on Smith Street or Chinatown Municipal parking on Bethel St. Weekdays after 5:00pm $0.75 each 0.5 hour or $3.00 flat rate. Weekends $0.50 each 0.5 hour or $3.00 flat rate.

Class Fee

• First Class is FREE for beginners who are not yet baptized as Capoeirista.
• 3 times per week: $100 (Save $20)
• 2 times per week: $70 (Save $10)
• $10/Class (If you are a visiting student from other Capoeira academies, please support us by paying our class fee. Mahalo!)

Frequently Asked Questions

• Do I have to be fit to learn Capoeira?

  • No, you will gain an all-around fitness training with us. You will gradually build up your strength, flexibility and techniques as you work through your belts. No matter how old or how fit you are, you can express yourself in Capoeira.

• Do I need experience?

  • There is no need to have martial arts or gymnastics experience. We will start you off with the basic steps then on to more advanced movements when you are ready.

• Do I have to know Portuguese?

  • You don't have to know Portuguese to start. You will gradually learn the language as you progress.

• What should I wear?

  • You can just wear a T-shirt (for women, sports bra is recommended) and a comfortable pants (no jeans or skirts). Please take off any metal accessaries (rings, bracelets, ear rings, etc.) for the safety of other students.
